Eating Out 

The local area has lots of options for Eating Out – breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, coffee, cake, afternoon tea, and also for drinks. The area is home to some award winning restaurants,  breweries and distilleries. Here are just a few highlights there are many more to be sampled.

The Wild Boar: (down the lane, turn left, straight on for a couple of minutes and it’s on your left). Grill and smokehouse, championing Cumbrian produce. Booking advisable.

Gilpin Spice: a 6 minutes drive from The Barn  Food with Asian influences, served in stylish surroundings. A great dining experience, delicious food and a little bit different. F. Booking advisable

Punch Bowl: (Crosthwaite) Lovely setting next to a church, beautiful bistro, excellent British menu in beautiful surroundings. Booking advisable.

Portos: provides bistro style, award winning dining, delivering freshly-prepared food, using locally-sourced ingredients from the best regional suppliers. 

Vila Postino: Off the cobbled street and down a little alley (next to Love the Lakes) this is a little bit of Italy. Booking advisable.

Broadwalk Bar & Gril:l Located lakeside on Gilly’s landing off the Glebe offers great food, burgers, salads and a little bit more with a view of the Lake.

 

Homeground Coffee & Kitchen: Always good, always a queue but worth the wait. Serves the usual dishes with a twist, excellent coffee and homemade cookies and cakes.

Café Italia: Great location to sit outside and enjoy a coffee or a beer.  Pizzas or sandwiches are served and tasty. 

San Peitro: Highly recommended, truly delicious italian food. Booking advisable
